Welcome to Cairns & District Power Boat & Ski Club. The club was formed in 1965 by a group of individuals who wanted to get together and race their then new motorised boats. From there the club has grown and has a strong pedigree of world champion skiers. Our small club has produced 3 World and 5 Australian Speed Ski Champions.Over the years the club has gone through a number of different phases seeing us host Power Boat Racing, Speed Skiing, Three Event Tournament Skiing, Barefoot Competitions, Wakeboarding and Lane Racing.We are currently holding Lane Racing and Barefoot competitions with the occasional Wakeboard competition thrown in for good measure. Lane Racing is a fast action multi dicipline water sking sport for all to enjoy. It is more about the ability of the skiers along with the teamwork of the boat driver and observer rather than having a fast boat. It really is a test of skill and teamwork. |
