Mackay Lane RacingStill no word back from either Mackay or T’vill clubs. 

Other Business

• Offer the rescue boat to the offshore club.  We will be looking for a small punt with o’board as rescue boat. – No word as yet

We will apply for a grant to obtain this new boat.

·        Purchase some Blue Loo for the toilets at the club house to ensure clean and vermin free.  To be purchased prior to Lane Race

·        Wheelbarrow grog at Peeramon sell tickets over bar and a set number of tickets per team

·        Draw 4^th December so people can use for Christmas

·        $400 for prize, $2 per ticket

·        Need to organise through Art Union – Toni to follow up

·        Need to purchase tickets Wakeboarding

·        Stuart interested in putting rail in the lagoon for next years sportfest, Toni to look into at work·        2 Cairns runs, 2 T’ville, 2 Mackay and possibly 2 in Rockhampton·        Stuart to schedule Cairns events so as not to clash with our scheduled events. 

Parade of lights·        Volunteers to meet on Wednesday 12 Sept to set up boats ready for parade on Saturday.  Location and time to be announced next week.·        Mitchell has completed forms and is contacting Festival Cairns who had a couple of questions.

  New Business: Course weights etcMitchell and Bob have welded together enough weights to set up the course properly.  They will be a lot easier to handle than the bricks we currently use.

Ted from Ahern Sheetmetal has kindly donated 300m of 6mm silver rope for the bouys. Thank you Ted. 

New people at our social days/eventsWaiver from and Day membership forms to be printed. 

T ShirtsTom is having his teams shirts done at the moment.  He will find out how much it would cost for us to have some club shirts made.  We would estimate anywhere between $25 & $30 should pull it up.  We would also probably have some coolers made up at the same time. 

Clubhouse extension Simon to follow up with pricing with Total Span. 

Insurance

We have had some feedback from our insurers and would like to report the following:The club insurance is liability only – it covers us for items such as, incorrect setting out of courses, accidental damage caused to property.  It does not cover the skier for participation. That said as we are not skiing above 60mph and not for prize money the skier is able to be covered by the boat insurance.  All boat owners need to ensure that their boat has cover that includes a skiers liability and that it is for a sufficient amount.  You will also need to check with your insurance company that you will be covered for racing – you will need to explain that you are not racing above 60mph and that it is not for prize money. I have verified with Club marine that their boat insurance will cover the type of activities that we hold.  Nautilus also has a  good cover but we would encourage all boat owners to check their cover. The club will incorporate into our new membership forms a small question section on insurance that will include – Policy #, Company, Comprehensive/Liability Cover, Including Skiers Cover, Amount and expiry date.  This will aid boat owners in ensuring they have the right cover.
